King County Sheriff – Officer Sam Shirley was present to discuss the past “for hire” patrol services they have provided and what they can currently provide.  He noted that he cannot enforce municipal codes in the City of Renton portion of the neighborhood.

It was noted that they require a 4/hr per shift minimum and the cost is $54.59/hr for the deputy and $10/hr for the car.

Molasses Creek/Park Pipeline – Nothing new to report.

Homeowner Appeals – There was a homeowner in attendance to voice a complaint regarding a home that constantly parks vehicles that block the sidewalks and mail box.

Unfinished Business – See the outstanding action items below.

Paul is working on the website address name and the buttons on the website.  He should have a demo available for the next meeting.

David reported that Chris from NW Playground Equipment came down and looked at the existing equipment in the park.  Dave feels the climbing toy should be taken out.  It would cost around $2,600 to take it out.

The first quote is around $56K for both little kid and older kid toys.  He will mail out the proposal to everyone.

Another bid will be required.

New Business

Denise Carnahan, a homeowner, was in attendance and spoke regarding forming a welcoming committee to welcome new owners to the neighborhood.  She suggested perhaps the committee would deliver the CC&R book and personally welcome the new owners.  Paul noted that his wife is willing to help, as did another homeowner in attendance, Jay Durdy.   Denise will provide an outline at the next meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 9:20 pm.

The next two meetings of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association will be the held on Thursday May 11th and Thursday June 8th both at 7 pm.  These meetings are in the portable buildsing at the Nativity Lutheran Church, 17707 140th SE.
